Partnerships for Progress: Report from the SDG 17 Leadership Forum
Multiple stakeholders from civil society, government, multilateral organizations and the private sector joined forces at the SDG Leadership Forum for Goal 17 ‘Partnerships for the Goals’ hosted by Unilever and GlobalScan. The Forum is part of a set of 17 online discussions that take place over the period of two years. Each Forum focuses on one Global Goal with the aim to share ideas and best practices to accelerate progress for the Sustainable Development Goals. The discussion on Goal 17 focused on partnerships for financing SDG progress, social enterprise scaling and access to funding to create successful partnerships.
The report ‘Partnerships for Progress’ summarises the discussions. Specifically, it shows examples of challenges, solutions and ideas, which have been shared among the 328 participants from 39 countries. Moreover, it highlights key challenges and priorities for action during the five stages of partnership: (1) Establishing the business case for financing the SDGs; (2) Finding the right partners, (3) building trust, (4) effective execution and (5) impact measurement.
