MSP in practice: Action medeor e.V. draws impressive conclusions after six months of aid to Ukraine

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the MSP action medeor e.V. has achieved enormous successes and supplied Ukrainian hospitals and distribution centers through over 100 aid transports. A logistics chain was set up through a large network across various areas, through which the required relief supplies can be delivered quickly and effectively.

It is now more than six months since the start of the Russian war in Ukraine. During this time, the suffering caused by the war led to massive displacement of the Ukrainian population and to acute hardship in the country, which was responded to with supplies of aid and medicines from all over the world.

Among the helpers is the German MSP action medeor e.V., which draws an impressive interim balance at this sad time. Since the beginning of the war on February 24, 2022, it has organized over 100 aid transports, in which 320 tons of relief supplies worth around 4.7 million euros were delivered. Among them are tons of medicines, bandages and medical equipment and devices, but also operating tables, beds and even ambulances that were needed in Ukrainian hospitals or distribution centers.

In that, the partnership-based cooperation in various areas is important, which reflects the strength of action medeor’s MSP approach. This not only made it possible to make several deliveries a week, but also to set up well-functioning logistics chains at the same time. Christoph Bonsmann, board member of action medeor e.V., explains: “We have now built up a broad network of logisticians, hospitals, pharmacies and local aid organizations with whom we work closely and trustingly”.

Despite these impressive numbers and the support provided, it is clear that further aid supplies will be needed in Ukraine in the future in order to help the Ukrainian population.
