MSP in Practice: MSP approaches in the fight against corruption
From June 30 to July 1, 2022 the 4th International Collective Action Conference was held in Basel under the theme “How to mainstream Collective Action to achieve a clean, fair and sustainable business environment for all”.
The conference brought together over 200 participants from the private sector, civil society, academia and the public sector working in the field of anti-corruption. Collective action across anti-corruption silos played a major role in panel discussions, workshops and exhibitions.
Multi-stakeholder approaches to anti-corruption were discussed and seen by participants as increasingly wide-spread and successful. This is also reflected in publications such as the OECD’s 2021 Anti-Bribery Recommendations, which emphasise collective action and partnerships as an important component of the fight against corruption.
For the first time, the Anti-Corruption Collective Action Awards were presented to organisations that have been successful in anti-corruption work through collective action. Awards were given in the categories “Outstanding Achievement” and “Inspirational Newcomer”. The initiatives were selected in a public vote. MSPs such as “CoST – the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative“ were also among the nominees.
